The object of this testing is to assess motion and note which motion the sacrum moves more freely inĀ
Hands on sacrum with fingers pointing cephalad and the heel of your hand on the sacral apex. Apply alternating pressure with tips of fingers and heel of the handĀ
Each Transverse Axis Level is associated with a primary motion:
- Superior transverse axis = respiratory motion, moves about a transverse axis at S2
- Middle transverse axis = postural motion, moves about a transverse axis at S3
- Inferior transverse axis = innominate motion, moves about a transverse axis at S4
