Recall: Diagnosing the Innominate
Steps for Treatment:
EASE, COMPRESSION, BARRIER
- Patient supine. Physician standing on side of the dysfucntion
- Physician places hand on same side of dysfunction on the patient’s ankle and other hand (opposite of the dysfunction) on the patient’s hip
- Ease
- Physician ABDucts the affected left into the ease. (Ex: Left Superior Shear – Left Left Abducted)
- Compression
- The physician then introduces axial traction to the affected leg
- Barrier
- While maintaining traction the physician ADDucts the affected leg slightly midline into the barrier
- Release traction and return leg to neutral
- Reassess
