Patellar Grind Test

Used to test for issues with patellar tracking or chondromalacia ​

  1. Doctor applies a compressive force to the proximal patella moving it into the trochlear groove. 
  2. The patient is then instructed to activate the quadriceps muscle by contracting their quadriceps

Test is considered to be positive when pain, crepitus, or grinding occurs
