Steps for Treatment:
- The patient is supine while the doctor is standing or seated at the head of the table.
- The physician places their middle finger midline on the posterior tubercle of C1 in the groove between the occiput and the spinous process of C2 while allowing the occiput to rest on the palm of the hand.
- With their middle finger, they apply anterior pressure
- The physician remains holding this position until a release is felt.
- You’ll feel your finger move more anterior
- The occiput will fall back on your hand
- Reassess the suboccipital muscles for improvement
